She served as Vice President of Armstrong Holdings, Inc., Assistant Comptroller of Republic Telecommunications Holdings, Inc., Treasurer of Asian Pacific Equity Corp. (now Tanduay Holdings, Inc.) and Comptroller of Cu Unjieng Investments Inc.

Ms. Tongson is a Certified Public Accountant. She graduated from Polytechnic University of the Philippines with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Accounting, magna cum laude.
